HP Performance Tuning Framework is a background component commonly preinstalled on HP laptops and workstations. It supplies shared services that other HP utilities rely on to monitor hardware, adjust power and cooling behavior, and apply vendor-tuned performance profiles. The framework itself typically has no user-facing interface; it enables features in companion HP software.

Typical capabilities:

  • Hardware and thermal monitoring (CPU, GPU, memory, storage)
  • Hooks for switching between performance, balanced, and quiet modes
  • Power and cooling tuning to match workload demands
  • Profile management used by HP’s performance-oriented tools

Notes:

  • Some HP utilities depend on this framework; uninstalling it can disable related features.
  • It does not affect the core operation of Windows, and many users can remove it safely if they don’t use HP tuning tools.
  • It is generally found only on HP-branded Windows systems.

HP Performance Tuning Framework is developed by Hewlett-Packard and is used by 4 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 2.2, 2.5, 2.7 and 2.8.
